Athletics Events Get Underway at Lam Dong’s First Provincial Sports Games
The athletics events of the 1st Lam Dong Provincial Sports Games 2026 officially got underway on September 8 at the Provincial Training and Competition Center.
Athletes Compete for Honors Across Multiple Events
Following the opening ceremony, athletes competed in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and 5,000m events.
The remaining middle- and long-distance events, along with the relay finals, will take place on the afternoon of September 8.
Crossbow shooting, slingshot shooting and stilts racing will be held on September 10 at the S.ERA Central Gymnasium of the National Sports Training Center – Da Lat facility.
The 1st Lam Dong Provincial Sports Games 2026 features 23 sports and disciplines, divided into two phases from January to September 2026. Following the provincial merger, the Games have been expanded in both scale and quality, attracting nearly 2,000 athletes from 40 delegations and units across the province.
The event showcases the strong spirit, determination and unity of Lam Dong’s athletes.
The opening ceremony of the 1st Lam Dong Provincial Sports Games 2026 will officially take place on September 12 at Lam Vien Square, Xuan Huong - Da Lat Ward, featuring 28 parade groups, 20 local clusters and eight mass-organization groups.
The 90-minute opening ceremony will be broadcast live on the channels of Lam Dong Newspaper and Radio and Television. The program will feature parade groups, mass artistic performances and a range of cultural and sporting showcases highlighting the cultural identity and distinctive character of Lam Dong and its people.
