The festive atmosphere of the 11th Da Lat Flower Festival 2026 is spreading throughout Xuan Huong - Da Lat Ward, Lam Dong Province, even before the official opening ceremony.

Every Resident in Xuan Huong - Da Lat Ward Plays a Part in the Festival

Xuan Huong - Da Lat Ward is the central venue for this year's festival. Lam Vien Square, Xuan Huong Lake, Tran Quoc Toan Park, Yersin Park, Bich Cau Peninsula and several major streets are among the locations hosting key activities.

A notable feature of this year's preparations is that the festival is not being built around large-scale floral installations alone. The ward has launched a campaign under the slogan “Everyone Plants Flowers, Every Household Plants Flowers and Greenery,” extending urban improvements to residential neighborhoods, government offices, schools, businesses and individual households.

The campaign aims for 100% of agencies, organizations, schools and businesses to build or renovate at least one floral installation, flower bed or green space. Every residential neighborhood is expected to have at least one flower-lined street and one community floral display, while more than 90% of households are encouraged to grow flowers or greenery in front of their homes.

Hotels, restaurants, cafes and other service businesses are also being encouraged to improve their facades, balconies and premises with suitable floral displays.

As the festival's central venue, Xuan Huong - Da Lat Ward has registered 11 programs and activities in response to the event, with a total budget of more than VND 11 billion.

The ward has drawn up plans to improve 10 key streets with 17 clusters of floral displays, focusing on Tran Quoc Toan, Yersin, Hung Vuong, Ba Thang Tu, Ho Tung Mau, Tran Phu, Le Hong Phong and Dinh Tien Hoang streets, as well as gateway areas and public spaces.

These goals are gradually taking shape through concrete projects. According to the latest information, more than 100 floral installations developed by residents, businesses and social organizations, along with 9 flower-lined streets and numerous decorative displays, are taking shape across the ward.

In the Pham Ngu Lao residential area along Cam Ly Stream, residents have joined hands to clean up the neighborhood and plant additional flowers along railings. Nearly 100 pots of impatiens have been newly planted, with each household voluntarily taking responsibility for caring for the flowers outside its home. As a result, a small street has become brighter, cleaner and more vibrant.

Duong Long Nguyen, a resident of Xuan Huong - Da Lat Ward, said his family regularly keeps their home tidy and grows and cares for flowers. Since the local campaign was launched, every family member has become more conscious of beautifying their living environment.

The festival is therefore no longer solely the responsibility of local authorities or organizing agencies. When each household cares for a flowerpot, each residential neighborhood develops a flower-lined street and each business adds a green space in front of its premises, the festival takes shape through thousands of small contributions.

Before the opening ceremony, the ward plans to organize at least three environmental clean-up campaigns combined with flower planting and care activities. Suitable small parks and public land plots are also being reviewed to mobilize social contributions and create more community floral spaces.

The 11th Da Lat Flower Festival carries the theme “Da Lat – An Orchestra of Flowers and Music” and comprises 12 main programs and 28 supporting activities. The opening ceremony is scheduled for the evening of December 19 at Lam Vien Square, while the New Year 2027 artistic program, combined with the festival's closing ceremony, is scheduled for the evening of December 31. The floral displays are expected to welcome residents and visitors from December 18, 2026, to January 3, 2027.

Beautifying the Festival and Improving the Urban Landscape

For a central ward, every detail of event organization can affect visitors' experiences. A beautiful floral display without sufficient parking, a colorful street with businesses encroaching on sidewalks, or a crowded public space where waste is not collected promptly can all diminish the appeal of the festival.

Flowers are being brought to every corner of the ward.

Therefore, alongside landscape improvements, the ward needs to clearly assign personnel to oversee individual streets, residential areas and event venues; publicize contact points for receiving feedback; and strengthen inspections of business activities, price displays, food safety and urban order. Socially funded projects must also have designated units responsible for their care and maintenance after completion.

Nguyen Vinh Hien, Head of the Ward's Culture and Social Affairs Division, said the locality is focusing its efforts on preparations, aiming not only to create a vibrant atmosphere during the festival but also to establish sustainable floral installations and spaces that will remain in place after the event.

This is also the distinctive approach that Xuan Huong - Da Lat Ward is pursuing. The 10 flower-lined streets are not intended as temporary decorations to be dismantled after December 31. Suitable spaces will continue to be maintained, replanted with flowers and supplemented with greenery, becoming part of the urban landscape and local tourism offerings.

Nguyen Van Loc, Secretary of the Party Committee of Xuan Huong - Da Lat Ward, said residents and businesses in the area have enthusiastically responded to the Flower Festival. The locality hopes that after the festival ends, floral spaces will continue to be maintained throughout Da Lat, creating a lasting impression on the urban landscape.

For Xuan Huong - Da Lat Ward, the 11th Da Lat Flower Festival is also an opportunity to reorganize public spaces, improve the landscape, foster environmental awareness and promote the role of the community.

When every flowerpot has someone to care for it, every street has a residential neighborhood responsible for maintaining it, and every project has a clearly assigned maintenance unit, the festival will not end with the closing ceremony. Flowers will continue to brighten balconies, alleys and streets, becoming part of the everyday life of Da Lat residents.
