According to the Provincial Association for Promoting Education, total education encouragement funds at all levels across the province currently amount to nearly VND 19 billion, providing an important resource for the effective implementation of scholarship and learning support programs.

Ms. Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh, President of the Provincial Association for Promoting Education, said the Association has actively coordinated with departments, agencies and local authorities to mobilize social resources, promptly supporting disadvantaged students and teachers while recognizing and encouraging outstanding learning role models.

In 2025 alone, the Association awarded nearly 4,000 scholarships worth more than VND 6.5 billion to students and teachers. Support has been delivered through flexible and targeted approaches, including commendations for students achieving high results in provincial, national and regional competitions, as well as scholarships for ethnic minority students, students with disabilities and those from particularly disadvantaged backgrounds.

In addition, the Association has mobilized socialized resources and international organizations to provide gifts, wheelchairs and learning equipment; support the construction of charity houses; and organize free medical check-ups and treatment for disadvantaged students and teachers.

Each scholarship or gift is not only material support but also a source of encouragement, helping students gain confidence and move forward on their educational journey.

Alongside effective resource allocation, a range of key education encouragement programs has continued to expand, generating strong community engagement. Notably, the “Supporting Students to Stay in School” initiative has provided hundreds of disadvantaged students with scholarships, learning tools and essential living conditions, enabling them to attend school with peace of mind.

Models such as “Humanitarian and Sharing Tet,” “Education Encouragement Markets,” “Humanitarian Booths,” and piggy-bank savings programs for education have attracted broad community participation. These initiatives have helped improve learning conditions and reduce dropout rates, particularly in remote and disadvantaged areas. At the same time, “Lifelong Learning” scholarships have contributed to promoting the spirit of continuous learning across society.

During challenging periods, education encouragement efforts have demonstrated their strong humanitarian value. In December alone, hundreds of students in remote areas and regions affected by floods received scholarships, books and school supplies, ensuring their education was not disrupted.

The provincial education encouragement movement has also paid special attention to “humanitarian addresses.” Recently, 30 students with strong academic performance at SOS Children’s Village Da Lat were awarded scholarships and practical gifts. Mr. Tran Bao Long, Director of SOS Children’s Village Da Lat, said the village is currently caring for 59 children with particularly difficult circumstances, and the support from the Provincial Association for Promoting Education and donors has helped create better living, learning and development conditions for the children.

Looking ahead, Ms. Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh said the Association will continue to strengthen coordination with departments, sectors and socio-political organizations to promote education encouragement, talent development and the building of a learning society. Efforts will also focus on diversifying funding models and expanding scholarship programs to create more educational opportunities for disadvantaged students. Through these practical actions, the education encouragement movement will continue to serve as a bridge bringing knowledge closer to everyone, helping aspirations take flight.
