Residents Agree to Compensation for Bao Loc – Lien Khuong Expressway Project

In recent days, residents affected by the Bao Loc – Lien Khuong Expressway project have begun completing procedures to receive compensation at designated payment locations. The decisive and transparent implementation of the process, along with timely support policies from provincial authorities, has gained strong public consensus.

Early on January 13, a large number of households from Hiep Thanh Commune gathered at Agribank’s Duc Trong Branch to receive compensation for land acquired for the project. Hiep Thanh is the first locality in the province to disburse compensation to residents affected by the expressway project.

According to official figures, the Bao Loc – Lien Khuong Expressway passes through Hiep Thanh Commune, affecting 310 land plots. To date, compensation plans have been approved for 274 cases, with a total budget exceeding VND 465 billion. The remaining 36 cases are being reviewed in coordination with local authorities to complete approval procedures in accordance with regulations.

Kieu Minh Tam, a resident, said his family had about 6,000 square meters of land acquired for the project. “In line with the Party and State’s policies, my family agreed to receive compensation and hand over the site so the project can be implemented soon,” he said. “Once completed, the expressway will significantly shorten travel time between Da Lat and Ho Chi Minh City, contributing to local economic development.”

Also receiving compensation early, Tran Muoi from Hiep Thanh Commune said: “After the State announced the policy, my family discussed and agreed to hand over the land promptly so the project can be implemented quickly for the benefit of the people and society.”

In Duc Trong Commune, the provincial Land Fund Development Center coordinated with the commune’s People’s Committee and Vietcombank Lam Dong Branch to disburse compensation to households affected by the project. To date, the Duc Trong Commune People’s Committee has approved compensation, support and resettlement plans for 334 households, with a total budget exceeding VND 425 billion.

For elderly residents and those with limited mobility, relevant agencies have provided on-site assistance at their homes to complete procedures and ensure timely payment.

In Ward 1 Bao Loc, authorities have approved and paid compensation to 142 households and organizations, totaling more than VND 225 billion. Among them, the family of N.V.T. received the highest compensation amount of VND 11.6 billion. Mr. T. said his family fully agreed with the project, handed over the land, and used the compensation to purchase land, build a house and stabilize their lives.

According to the provincial Land Fund Development Center, the key infrastructure project passes through 10 communes and wards, affecting more than 2,400 households. To date, most dossiers are eligible for payment, with total compensation estimated at over VND 2.728 trillion. With a total length of 73.6 kilometers and a modern design, once completed, the expressway is expected to serve as a powerful catalyst for the development of Lam Dong Province’s key economic sectors and neighboring localities.
