The road linking Dak Peur Border Gate to the permanent militia outpost in Thuan An Commune is crucial for maintaining national defense and security, managing and protecting borders, as well as facilitating local socio-economic growth.
Unfortunately, this route has not received sufficient investment for many years. Its surface has deteriorated significantly, making travel difficult, especially during the rainy season. Muddy conditions and sporadic landslides have disrupted the daily lives and agricultural activities of residents, while also hindering the movement of armed forces responsible for patrols, inspections, and border protection duties.

The project entails upgrading a stretch of road measuring 800 meters with a width of 3 meters, with a total expenditure exceeding VND 1 billion. Of this total, the Local Military Emulation Bloc of Military Region 7 is contributing VND 650 million, while the remaining funds are sourced from local authorities and community members.
Once the project is completed and put into use, the road will enhance the transportation capabilities of permanent militia forces and personnel assigned to border duties. It will also benefit local residents by facilitating the transport of agricultural products and goods and making daily travel easier.

Spanning a natural area of 315.8 square kilometers, the commune is home to 5,316 households representing 16 different ethnic groups across 20 villages and hamlets. Currently, there are two border militia outposts in the area that play a crucial role in national defense and security.

The launch of this collaborative emulation initiative reflects the unity and sense of duty of the Local Military Emulation Bloc of Military Region 7 towards remote, mountainous, and border areas.
This initiative serves as a tangible effort to enhance the collective national defense strategy alongside the community security framework and the comprehensive border defense approach. Moreover, the project emphasizes the armed forces' role in facilitating rural development, fostering economic progress, alleviating poverty sustainably, and creating a peaceful, cooperative, and thriving border area.
