As final-year students are busy preparing for the national high school graduation exam, Minh Chau’s story has deeply moved many people. Her mother left when she was only three years old, and her father passed away when she was in second grade. Since then, Minh Chau and her younger sister have relied on their grandmother, now over 80 years old, and an aunt suffering from chronic illness.

Chau’s small home contains few valuable possessions. The family survives on unstable temporary jobs, making financial hardship a constant reality. Yet despite these challenges, the young student has never given up on her dream of continuing her education.

Determination to Stay in School

After school, Minh Chau helps care for her grandmother, does housework, and takes on simple manual jobs to earn extra money for books and school supplies. What has touched her teachers most is not only her academic performance but also her strong sense of responsibility.

“If I don’t study, who will take care of my younger sister and my family in the future?” she shared.

For the 12th-grade student, the road ahead includes not only the graduation exam but also the daunting challenge of entering university, with concerns over tuition fees, living expenses, and supporting her elderly family members.

More Than VND 61 Million in Support

In response to her circumstances, the “White Daisy – Supporting Students to School” program once again served as a bridge of compassion, connecting organizations and benefactors to support disadvantaged but hardworking students.
