The Da Lat Cherry Blossom Festival - Spring 2026 Opens, Kicking Off Spring Cultural Series

The festival marks the opening of a series of early-spring cultural and tourism events in Lam Dong Province, attracting large numbers of local residents and visitors.

Attending the opening ceremony were comrades : Pham Thi Phuc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong Province; Dinh Van Tuan, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; along with leaders of provincial departments, agencies and local authorities, representatives of businesses, sponsors, media organizations, residents and tourists.

Set against the cool highland atmosphere, the opening ceremony began with emotionally rich artistic performances, creating a harmonious picture of nature, people and the springtime of Lam Dong.

Delivering the opening speech, Comrade Tran Thi Vu Loan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairwoman of the People’s Committee of Xuan Huong – Da Lat Ward, emphasized that cherry blossoms are not only a signature flower of the Central Highlands, but also a cultural symbol closely associated with the formation and development of Da Lat in the past and Lam Dong Province today.

She noted that the festival aims to honor scenic values and preserve cultural identity, while also promoting the image of Lam Dong people as gentle, elegant and hospitable.

The Da Lat Cherry Blossom Festival - Spring 2026 inaugurates a year-long series of cultural and tourism activities, contributing to the promotion of Lam Dong’s tourism brand toward sustainable development, product diversification, and the goal of welcoming 25 million visitors. The festival also conveys a message of environmental protection and the creation of green living spaces.

At the opening ceremony, the Organizing Committee honored and expressed gratitude to partners and sponsors for their active contributions to the festival, highlighting the strong connection between the government, businesses and the community in preserving and promoting local cultural and tourism values.

Following the ceremonial segment, the opening art program was staged in a semi-realistic format, comprising three chapters and ten scenes, recreating the story of cherry blossoms intertwined with the history and development of the Lam Dong Highlands.

The program featured renowned singers, professional dance troupes, fashion designers and community performers, creating a distinctive artistic space rich in the highland cultural identity.

Chapter One, titled “Da Lat – The Legend of a Flower,” portrayed the origins and enduring bond between cherry blossoms and Da Lat, honoring the people, intellect and refined elegance of the highland city.

Chapter Two, “Fragrance of the Great Forest – Whispers of Spring,” offered an evocative artistic space reflecting the spirit of spring reunions and the harmony between nature, people and regional cultures, highlighting Lam Dong’s diverse and profound identity in its development journey.

Chapter Three, “Cherry Blossom Season – Convergence of Spring Colors,” marked the climax of the opening night, delivering messages of unity, peace and harmony among people, nature and homeland, while expressing Lam Dong Province’s aspirations for growth and prosperity in a new era.

The Da Lat Cherry Blossom Festival - Spring 2026 features 11 key programs, running from January 16 to February 5, 2026, across Xuan Huong – Da Lat Ward and neighboring wards throughout Lam Dong Province.

Through a wide range of activities throughout the festival season, the event is expected to boost tourism and socio-economic development, enhance the spiritual life of local residents, and further promote the cultural values and image of Lam Dong province.

More than a cultural highlight at the beginning of the year, the festival helps reinforce the tourism brand of Da Lat – Lam Dong, creating a strong ripple effect to attract visitors and accompanying the province into a new phase of development marked by convergence, connectivity and sustainability.
