The Unique Allure of the Fastest Road to Da Lat

Minh Chuong - Lam Khoa 14/04/2026 06:48

In recent days, National Highway 28B has attracted significant attention, not only for its convenient and safe travel conditions but also for shortening the journey to Da Lat (Lam Dong). At the same time, the wild natural beauty of the mountains and forests captivates visitors, encouraging them to stop, admire the scenery, and take photos along the way.

While admiring the breathtaking scenery at the summit of Dai Ninh Pass on National Highway 28B, Phu Quoc Hien’s family from Ho Chi Minh City stopped to take photos at the start of their trip to Da Lat.

Hien said, “Recently, many young people have shared their experiences traveling on National Highway 28B after its upgrades in newspapers and on social media. The route is now wider, more scenic, safer and faster, so our family decided to visit Da Lat this weekend to experience it for ourselves.”

From Thu Duc, I reached the top of Dai Ninh Pass in about three and a half hours via the expressway, roughly an hour quicker than the trip on National Highway 20. I’ve visited Da Lat many times, but this was the fastest journey yet. The views along the way were spectacular. From the top of the pass, the valley opened onto a stunning lake — a spot too beautiful to pass without stopping for photos.

During this weekend, there was a significant number of vehicles on National Highway 28B heading towards Da Lat. Nevertheless, traffic flowed smoothly following the complete resurfacing of the Dai Ninh Pass section with asphalt, the repainting of road markings, and the installation of traffic safety signs.

At the viaduct segments, the flow of vehicles moved seamlessly in succession, providing both safety and an aesthetically pleasing experience. This also offers a fresh perspective for tourists navigating this route for their first time.

Thai Huy Phong, from Ho Chi Minh City, said that he took his family to Da Lat for a vacation this weekend to enjoy the new route that has recently gained popularity on social media.

He shared: “After seeing it on TV and social media, I found National Highway 28B incredibly beautiful, especially the curved sections of the bridges. So today, I brought my family to experience it. I must say, the drive is very smooth, without the steep slopes or sharp hairpin turns we used to face. I really enjoy the mountain scenery. If there were more rest stops or resorts where visitors could stay overnight and take in the view, it would be even better.”

Although a few finishing touches are still being completed, National Highway 28B has already become a popular route thanks to its wider roadway, improved safety, and reduced travel time. It is now the fastest way for residents and tourists from the southeastern and southern regions to reach Da Lat.
