Tourism stimulus drives economic growth in Lam Dong
According to statistics, tourism revenue reached approximately VND 22 trillion, up more than 25% year-on-year, and is expected to hit VND 71 trillion by year-end.

New horizons for tourism growth
Although air transport services have been suspended since March 2026, Lam Dong welcomed nearly 8 million visitors in the first four months of the year, up 20% compared to the same period last year.
International arrivals reached 631,000, marking an increase of more than 23.3% year-on-year. Tourism revenue also rose by more than 30% from the same period in 2025 to nearly VND22 trillion.
This is a positive result while Lam Dong Province continues restructuring its tourism development strategy following the regional merger, laying the groundwork for stronger breakthroughs in tourism, one of its key economic sectors.
To stimulate tourism demand, Lam Dong has rolled out a series of large-scale events and promotional programs since the start of the year, including Countdown 2026, Dalat Ultra Trail 2026, the Ho Chi Minh City Television Cycling Cup, the “Welcome Summer 2026” program and the announcement of the Mui Ne National Tourism Area master plan through 2040 with a vision to 2050.
Creating a sustainable tourism strategy for Lam Dong
Lam Dong’s announcement of the master plan for the Mui Ne National Tourism Area through 2040, with a vision to 2050, marks a major strategic step in positioning tourism as a key economic sector.
Covering nearly 14,760 hectares, the project will follow a development model built around “One Coastal Corridor - Three Centers - Multiple Sea Access Directions,” with the goal of transforming Mui Ne into an international tourism hub and one of the Asia-Pacific region’s leading destinations.
The project is expected to open new growth space linked to the marine economy while strengthening Lam Dong’s long-term tourism development strategy.
At the same time, the province is promoting its destination branding plan under the theme “Lam Dong - The Journey of Sea, Flowers and Great Forests,” centered around three signature destinations: Da Lat, Mui Ne and Ta Dung.
These three tourism hubs are helping redefine Lam Dong’s image in both domestic and international markets through interconnected tourism routes such as “Sea - Mountains - Flowers” and “Highlands - Coastline - UNESCO Geopark.”
All three destinations are expected to serve as key tourism pillars, helping connect tourism activities across the province while creating spillover benefits for other sectors of Lam Dong’s economy.
The province aims to attract 25 million visitors in 2026, in line with its broader goal of achieving double-digit economic growth.
Tourism authorities have also reported strong growth in international arrivals from key markets including Russia, South Korea, China, Germany and the United States, with foreign visitor numbers increasing by 23% year-on-year.
Even as air transport services remain suspended, Lam Dong continues attracting visitors through eco-tourism, beach tourism, adventure travel and wellness experiences.
To further diversify tourism experiences, encourage longer stays and increase visitor spending, Provincial People’s Committee Chairman Ho Van Muoi recently urged local authorities, tourism associations and businesses to identify key target markets. He also called for closer coordination with relevant agencies to create breakthroughs in tourism growth in the coming years, with greater focus on developing distinctive tourism products and diversifying tourism offerings.
According to statistics, Lam Dong currently has 436 tourism investment projects, including luxury resorts, MICE tourism, marine sports, adventure tourism, community tourism and night projects, with 260 projects already in operation.
