Tourist arrivals to Phu Quy Island rise sharply during the Hung Kings Commemoration Day holiday.
On the morning of April 26, the first day of the Hung Kings Commemoration Day holiday, hundreds of tourists from various provinces and cities came to Phan Thiet Port to board boats to Phu Quy Island (Lam Dong Province).

Early in the morning, Phan Thiet Port was already bustling with travelers. Many arrived early to line up for check-in procedures ahead of departure.
Most visitors came from nearby localities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, and Tay Ninh. They typically traveled by private vehicles to the port, parked there, and then continued their journey by boat to the island.

Nguyen Hoang Nam (24, from Ho Chi Minh City) shared:
“I’ve recently read a lot of interesting information about Phu Quy and wanted to experience its peaceful atmosphere and natural beauty. That’s why I decided to visit the island during this holiday.”
Similarly, Nguyen Thanh Thao Nguyen from Tay Ninh and her group traveled overnight by car to arrive at the port before dawn.
“We left early to make sure we wouldn’t miss the boat. Although the overnight trip was tiring, everyone was excited. We heard that the sea is calm this time of year, and it only takes about two hours to reach the island. We hope to enjoy a three-day getaway as planned,” she said.

According to representatives of the Binh Thuan Maritime Port Authority, there are around six daily ferry trips operating on the Phan Thiet – Phu Quy route. Due to rising demand, transport operators have added extra trips to serve passengers.

On Phu Quy Island, many accommodation establishments have reported being fully booked since the start of the holiday. Nguyen Thanh Tung, a hotel owner on the island, said:
“Our hotel is fully booked for this holiday, and even for the upcoming April 30 – May 1 holiday, rooms were reserved well in advance. This year, bookings came earlier than usual, so occupancy has reached maximum capacity.”

Room rates have increased slightly compared to normal days but remain reasonable and transparent.
“We try to keep prices stable and avoid sudden increases to ensure long-term service quality. Even during peak periods, we prioritize service standards,” he added.

In recent years, this beautiful island has attracted increasing attention thanks to its untouched landscapes, peaceful atmosphere, and crystal-clear turquoise waters. As a result, holidays and festivals often draw large numbers of visitors, averaging nearly 1,000 people per day.
The island is appealing not only for its stunning natural scenery and surrounding islets but also for the friendliness and hospitality of locals, leaving a lasting impression on visitors.

To prepare for the April 30 – May 1 holiday and the 2026 summer tourism peak season, Le Hong Loi, Chairman of the Phu Quy Special Zone People’s Committee, stated that agencies and units have been instructed to proactively strengthen tourism management.

Authorities are also coordinating closely with tourism businesses to ensure security, safety, and service quality. Efforts are being made to raise public awareness, promote a friendly and civilized tourism environment, and encourage respectful behavior toward visitors.
Regular inspections are being conducted on tourism service providers (accommodation, dining, travel, transport), with strict measures against violations such as overcharging, misleading pricing, harassment, and fraud.

Environmental clean-up campaigns have been launched along roads leading to tourist sites and beaches ahead of the holiday season, alongside strengthened efforts in maintaining public order, traffic safety, and rescue services at tourist locations.
“Tourism businesses should step up promotional activities and develop distinctive tourism products to attract visitors. This will help promote the image of Phu Quy Island tourism under the motto: ‘Phu Quy People – Friendly – Hospitable – Kind-hearted.’”
Le Hong Loi, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Phu Quy Special Zone
