With the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term approaching, Cat Tien 3 Commune is intensifying efforts to raise voter awareness.

In areas with large ethnic minority populations, village elders, hamlet leaders, and other respected community figures have played an increasingly important role in helping residents understand the significance of this major national event.

A Bridge Between the Authorities and the People

Cat Tien 3 is home to many hamlets and villages populated by ethnic minority communities, including areas formerly part of Dong Nai Thuong Commune. In these communities, village elders, hamlet leaders, and respected local figures play a particularly important role in daily life.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Cat Tien 3 Commune has intensified voter meetings between candidates for People’s Council deputies at all levels and local residents, especially in areas with large ethnic minority populations.

They are not only guardians of traditional customs and cultural values but also serve as a bridge between local authorities and the people in many community movements and activities.

In election communication efforts, respected community figures have played an increasingly active role. With their credibility and close connection with local residents, they help voters better understand the significance and importance of the election, thereby raising awareness and a sense of responsibility for participating in the vote.

Dieu K’Von, a voter in Bu Sa Hamlet and Deputy Secretary of the hamlet Party cell, said that local residents place high expectations on the deputies to be elected in the new term. According to him, voters’ greatest hope is for greater attention to social welfare policies, economic development, and the application of science and technology in production.

Local residents hope that elected deputies will pay greater attention to providing farmers with scientific and technical knowledge, especially in the cultivation and care of crops such as durian and coffee. If more training courses and technical guidance programs are organized, farmers will have better opportunities to improve productivity and their livelihoods.

According to Dieu K’Von, besides financial support, what is even more important is helping people access modern agricultural knowledge so that they can develop their economy sustainably and gradually reduce poverty.

Beyond expressing voters’ aspirations, many village elders also directly take part in communication and mobilization efforts, encouraging residents to participate fully in the election in accordance with regulations.

Dieu K’Loc, born in 1953, a village elder of Bu Gia Ra Hamlet and also a local gong artisan, said he always reminds villagers to actively take part in election day.

According to him, voting is both a right and a responsibility of every citizen, contributing to the selection of representatives of the people to participate in building an increasingly strong State apparatus.

He also expressed his hope that local authorities will continue to prioritize economic development and improving people’s living standards in the time ahead, working toward the goal of “a prosperous people, a strong nation, and a just and civilized society.”
