Vinh Hao Aims to Become a Coastal Industrial and Service Hub
With its new position and potential, Vinh Hao Commune (Lam Dong Province) has identified one of its key goals for the 2025–2030 term: to develop industry as the driving force and trade–services as the breakthrough sector — all toward sustainable and comprehensive growth.
Positioning as a Dynamic Economic Zone
Following the merger of Vinh Hao and Vinh Tan communes, the new Vinh Hao now holds a strategic coastal position and great potential for industrial, logistics, and marine economic development. As the “energy capital” of the region, with well-connected interregional transport infrastructure, Vinh Hao is making strong progress toward becoming the southeastern coastal industrial and service hub of the province in the upcoming term.
Vinh Hao enjoys a complete transportation network, including National Highway 1A, an interchange with the North–South Expressway (Vinh Hao – Phan Thiet section), the under-construction North–South high-speed railway, and the operational Vinh Tan International Port. These form a solid foundation for attracting investment in processing industries, mechanical manufacturing, and the production of construction materials from thermal power byproducts, while expanding logistics services.
The Binh Thuan Multimodal Transport and Logistics Center is now in operation, directly connected to Vinh Tan International Port — creating major opportunities for trade and regional cargo transportation.
Vinh Hao is also efficiently tapping into its renewable energy potential, with five solar power plants running stably and four thermal power plants operating effectively. The completion of the 220 kV Vinh Hao substation and transmission line provides critical infrastructure for future renewable energy projects.
Alongside industrial expansion, Vinh Hao continues to develop traditional sectors such as refined salt production, seafood processing, mineral water bottling, and ship repair — industries that remain vital to the local economy. The post-merger expansion has allowed for stronger inter-industry linkages, boosting production value and efficiency.
In line with sustainable development goals, the commune is prioritizing clean industrial projects that apply modern, eco-friendly technologies. A notable example is the ash and slag separation system at the Vinh Tan 2 Thermal Power Plant, which not only processes waste but also recycles materials for construction use — reducing pollution and creating local jobs.
The trade and service sectors are also experiencing strong growth. There are currently 142 business establishments, restaurants, and hotels concentrated along National Highway 1A and other main roads. The operation of the North–South Expressway has transformed the area, driving demand for goods transport, accommodation, and dining services.
Vinh Hao is gradually building a brand for its signature products — such as Vinh Hao mineral water, refined sea salt, and processed seafood — now promoted through e-commerce platforms, the OCOP program, and trade fairs to increase value and market reach.
The commune is focused on completing all local planning projects, speeding up site clearance for key infrastructure works — especially the high-speed railway project — while accelerating industrial zone development to attract new investors.

Infrastructure – The Key to Breakthrough Growth
According to Mr. Vo Duc Thuan, Secretary of the Vinh Hao Commune Party Committee, during the 2025–2030 term, the commune will prioritize industrial and handicraft development, trade and services, tourism, and high-value agriculture.
Vinh Hao will continue supporting industrial expansion in tandem with environmental protection, capitalizing on existing economic infrastructure while accelerating the development of industrial zones to attract secondary investors.
The commune aims to promote clean industrial models with strict environmental management, encouraging the use of eco-friendly building materials and modern technology to reduce emissions, protect natural resources, and improve quality of life.
At the same time, it is expanding transport, logistics, industrial support, coastal tourism, hotel, restaurant, and marine economic services. Plans are also underway to upgrade traditional markets and attract investment in modern supermarkets and shopping centers.
In parallel with industrial growth, the commune is investing in socioeconomic infrastructure — particularly transportation, irrigation, electricity, water supply, and telecommunications. Public works such as coastal embankments, schools, and health stations are being accelerated to meet community needs.
At the first Vinh Hao Commune Party Congress, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council Tieu Hong Phuc highlighted: “The Party Committee must lead effectively, harness all available resources, and leverage the strengths of completed infrastructure projects — especially transport systems and seaports — to drive development.”
With increasingly modern infrastructure, expanding development space, and a clear strategic vision, Vinh Hao is steadily affirming its position as a coastal industrial and service hub — a key growth engine for Lam Dong in the new era.
