VRG Group Proposes Nearly VND 42 Trillion Investment Portfolio in Lam Dong

A portfolio of industrial parks, industrial clusters, and renewable energy projects with a total proposed investment of VND 41.83 trillion (approximately US$1.6 billion) has been submitted by the Vietnam Rubber Group (VRG) for consideration in Lam Dong Province.

On July 15, leaders of Lam Dong Province held a working session with Vietnam Rubber Group (VRG) to discuss the group's proposed investment plans in the province.

The provincial delegation was led by Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Ho Van Muoi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Dang Hong Sy, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Luu Van Trung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, along with vice chairpersons of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of provincial departments and agencies.

The VRG delegation was headed by Tran Cong Kha, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors.

According to VRG, the group currently operates five member companies in Lam Dong, engaged in rubber cultivation, processing, and hydropower development, including Binh Thuan Rubber One Member Co., Ltd., Bao Lam Rubber JSC, VRG Bao Loc JSC, and VRG Dak Nong JSC.

Over the years, these subsidiaries have contributed significantly to local economic growth while creating stable employment opportunities.

Building on its financial strength and extensive industry experience, VRG proposed studying and investing in a series of industrial parks, industrial clusters, and renewable energy projects, with a combined investment of VND 41.83 trillion.

With our solid financial foundation and extensive practical experience, we are committed to mobilising maximum resources to implement these projects efficiently and on schedule. VRG is determined to work alongside Lam Dong in developing an integrated ecosystem comprising next-generation industry, energy and logistics.

At the meeting, provincial leaders and representatives of departments largely expressed support for the proposed projects, noting that they align with Lam Dong's development orientation.

Participants suggested that VRG prioritise projects that match its core strengths and can be implemented quickly, particularly those capable of becoming operational in 2026 to contribute to the province's economic growth.

Provincial Party Secretary Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam welcomed VRG's proactive engagement with Lam Dong. He noted that this was the group's second working visit since the merger of Lam Dong Province, reflecting its strong commitment to exploring investment opportunities and identifying projects suited to the province's development needs.

The provincial leader highly appreciated VRG's financial capacity, extensive experience, and successful investment portfolio across the country.

He affirmed that the projects proposed by VRG are fully consistent with Lam Dong's short- and long-term development strategy, particularly as the province targets double-digit GRDP growth, with industry and energy serving as key growth drivers.

Secretary Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam added that Lam Dong is accelerating the development of industrial parks and industrial clusters to attract investment while also planning a coastal economic zone to support sustainable long-term growth.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi praised VRG's reputation and investment performance in Lam Dong over the past decade, reaffirming the province's strong support for the group's investment strategy.

VRG should prioritise projects that can commence operations as early as 2026 rather than launching too many projects simultaneously. Our shared objective is to deliver concrete, efficient and sustainable investment outcomes.

The chairman also recommended that VRG establish a permanent working group in Lam Dong to coordinate closely with provincial departments, agencies and industrial park management boards, enabling both sides to promptly resolve any issues arising during project implementation.

He emphasised that close cooperation between the province and investors from the earliest stages is the key to ensuring rapid and sustainable project success.
