Lac Duong Spruces Up Da Lat Gateway Ahead of Flower Festival
As the gateway to Da Lat, Lac Duong Commune in Lam Dong Province is stepping up landscaping, flower planting and environmental cleanup ahead of the 11th Da Lat Flower Festival 2026, aiming to create a greener, cleaner and more welcoming approach to the center.

Refreshing the Gateway to Da Lat
In the lead-up to the 11th Da Lat Flower Festival 2026, Lac Duong Commune is stepping up efforts to improve public spaces, maintain environmental hygiene and refresh its streetscape.
As a gateway to Da Lat, the commune plays an important role in shaping visitors’ first impressions of the city. Clean streets, well-maintained public spaces and vibrant greenery not only improve residents’ quality of life but also help create a welcoming atmosphere for visitors arriving in the Central Highlands.
From government offices and schools to residential neighborhoods, flower planting and greenery maintenance are gaining momentum, with organizations, community groups and residents taking part. More spaces are being enhanced with flowers and greenery, creating a fresher landscape that complements the area's natural surroundings.

Da Sar Secondary and High School stands out for its well-kept campus, where flowers and trees help create a greener, more inviting learning environment. The landscaped grounds enhance the school’s appearance while bringing students closer to nature.
Beyond improving the campus, caring for plants and keeping the surroundings clean help foster environmental awareness among students. These everyday activities encourage young people to protect their surroundings, maintain greenery and take greater responsibility for the spaces they share.

The commune is further advancing the campaign, “Everyone Plants Flowers, Every Home Adds Flowers and Greenery,” in celebration of the festival. Government offices, schools, villages and households are being encouraged to plant and care for flowers, improve their surroundings and help maintain a consistent standard of public cleanliness.
Flower planting is currently underway at the Party Committee compound, with additional trees planned for community cultural centers and roads in the Da Sar area. Environmental cleanup drives are also being organized to clean streets and alleys, collect waste and improve shared public spaces.
Residents are being encouraged to keep their properties clean, care for trees and flowers, and avoid littering. Posters, banners and public messages are also being used to raise awareness of the community’s role in protecting the environment.

By focusing on practical improvements to streets, neighborhoods and communal spaces, Lac Duong is working to build a cleaner, greener and more attractive living environment. These efforts extend beyond the festival, supporting a longer-term commitment to civic responsibility and environmental sustainability.
As a key gateway to Da Lat, the commune’s improved appearance can also enhance the visitor experience from the moment travelers enter the area.
Bringing the Festival to Life Through Flowers and Cultural Heritage
Alongside its landscaping initiatives, Lac Duong is preparing cultural, artistic and sporting activities to build excitement among residents while showcasing the area’s distinctive cultural identity.
Nguyen Dac Viet, vice chairman of the Lac Duong Commune People’s Committee, said the locality was implementing several programs in response to the 11th Da Lat Flower Festival 2026. These include the 2026 Gong Culture and Cuisine Festival combined with folk games in Lang Biang–Da Lat Ward, as well as an under-15 football tournament and a community arts festival.

The activities are intended to provide healthy recreational opportunities, strengthen community ties and introduce visitors to the area’s cultural traditions. Together with the floral displays, they offer different ways for residents to participate in the festival and help create a lively atmosphere throughout the locality.
Viet said Lac Duong would continue organizing environmental cleanup drives along roads and in residential areas, planting greenery at community cultural centers and in the Da Sar area, and installing banners and posters to promote the festival. The commune also plans to organize a Vietnamese Culture Day as part of its celebrations, creating additional opportunities for cultural exchange and community activities.

Combining public-space improvements with cultural and sporting activities reflects the commune’s efforts to make the festival a shared community occasion. Every well-maintained flower bed, clean street and community event contributes to the festive atmosphere while encouraging residents to take pride in their hometown.
With local authorities, agencies, schools and residents working together, Lac Duong is gradually taking on a fresher, greener appearance ahead of the 11th Da Lat Flower Festival 2026. The effort is about more than preparing for a major event: it is also an opportunity to present Lac Duong as a welcoming destination where environmental stewardship, community participation and cultural heritage go hand in hand.
