Lam Dong Attends Conference on Implementing Resolution on Growing Area and Packing Facility Codes

The conference was chaired by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Hoang Hiep and was held in person at the ministry's headquarters, with an online connection to approximately 1,000 locations nationwide.

At the conference held in Lam Dong, notable attendees included Le Trong Yen, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee; Vu Dinh Cuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment; along with representatives from provincial departments, agencies, and businesses involved in the agricultural sector.

During the conference, officials from the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection presented the main points of Resolution No. 36/2026/NQ-CP, which encompasses initiatives to expand export markets for agricultural products, the stipulations set by importing nations regarding plant-origin products, and the strategy for executing the resolution.

Representatives of the Department of Digital Transformation provided guidance on procedures for carrying out administrative formalities and issuing and reissuing growing area codes and packing facility codes through electronic platforms.

Under Resolution No. 36/2026/NQ-CP, the online process for the issuance and management of growing area codes and packing facility codes will be executed completely digitally, following the principle that individuals and organizations self-declare information and accept responsibility for their statements.

The resolution also stipulates that preliminary inspections will only be conducted in cases where required by importing countries, while post-inspection mechanisms will be applied in all other cases. This is considered a breakthrough in administrative reform in the agricultural sector.

For Lam Dong, a province known for its extensive agricultural production and various specialized regions for vegetables, flowers, coffee, and fruit intended for export, the execution of Resolution No. 36 is anticipated to greatly assist farmers, cooperatives, and businesses in obtaining and maintaining codes for growing areas and packing facilities.

Reducing processing times, enhancing digitalization, and reinforcing decentralization at the commune level are expected to establish a “green lane” for agricultural exports, aiding in lowering production costs, boosting competitiveness, and fostering the growth of a modern and transparent agricultural sector that aligns with international market standards.
