As of September 28, about 2.73 million people, or 69.9% of the province's population, had health examination-related information and data recorded since the beginning of 2026. The rate is expected to reach around 70% by the end of the third quarter.

However, progress in universal health examinations remains slower than planned, while the province aims to basically complete the program before November 30, 2026.

The 60-day campaign is therefore designed to mobilize the entire political system, from the provincial level to grassroots administrations, while emphasizing the responsibility of local leaders and encouraging more residents to undergo health examinations.

Shifting from treatment to disease prevention

Speaking at the launch, Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Dinh Van Tuan emphasized that protecting, caring for and improving people's health is the responsibility of the entire political system and society.

The province is shifting its focus from treatment toward proactive disease prevention, with the goal of ensuring that every resident receives a periodic health checkup or free screening at least once a year and is gradually covered by an electronic health record system.

The ceremony was connected online with meeting points in localities across the province.

Local administrations were instructed to urgently develop implementation plans, review all eligible groups, and strengthen communication and public outreach.

The campaign calls for a grassroots approach of “going down every alley, knocking on every door and reviewing every eligible person”, while requiring local authorities to take responsibility for progress and results in their respective areas.

The health sector will mobilize resources, conduct inspections and supervision, and update implementation progress on a daily and weekly basis. It will also provide support to localities that are lagging behind and ensure that health examinations for eligible groups are completed in November as required.

Mobilizing the community for universal health care

The Provincial Party Committee's Commission for Communications and Education, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong Province, mass organizations, departments and agencies will step up communication and encourage their members and the public to participate actively.

They will also encourage organizations, individuals and donors to provide financial support in accordance with regulations, contributing to the province's goal of universal health examinations in 2026 and subsequent years.

Vice Chairman Dinh Van Tuan called on residents across Lam Dong to proactively undergo periodic health checkups and free screenings, making them a regular and practical part of protecting the health of individuals, families and communities.

The campaign is expected to create a stronger shift in public healthcare, with the long-term goal of ensuring that every resident receives at least one periodic health checkup or free screening each year, while gradually establishing electronic health records and continuous, long-term health management.
