Adding Color Through Artistic Activities

Da Lat Flower Gardens is a familiar destination for residents and visitors to the City of Flowers. For the 2026 Da Lat Flower Festival, the gardens are undergoing landscaping improvements and preparing a range of activities to make the attraction more appealing.

According to Tran Hoai An, Head of the Da Lat Flower Gardens Management Board, the unit has drawn up plans for displays of flowers and ornamental plants and is making preparations for the festival. Four activities are planned at the gardens: an exhibition of beautiful flowers and ornamental plants created by artisans and organizations; a bonsai, ornamental plant and fruit competition; an artistic flower-arranging competition featuring various flowers, including orchids; and an orchid exhibition.

These activities aim to showcase the beauty of flowers and ornamental plants while providing a platform for artisans to demonstrate their skills, craftsmanship and creativity. From carefully cultivated bonsai trees to artistic floral arrangements, each display offers a different perspective on the aesthetic value of flowers and ornamental plants.

Alongside preparations for these activities, the management board is improving various areas, planting and arranging flowers, and adding decorative landscape features. The redesigned spaces aim to create a harmonious setting and make it more convenient for visitors to explore and enjoy the gardens during the festival.

According to Tran Hoai An, approximately 142,000 bags and pots of flowers are expected to be planted and used for decoration throughout the gardens. Planting is scheduled to be largely completed by mid-November. From early December, the unit will continue arranging flowers and creating decorative floral displays. By mid-December, the flower beds are expected to be in full bloom, ready to welcome visitors.

To meet the schedule, planting, flower care and arrangement are being carried out according to plan. In addition to the quantity and quality of the flowers, their blooming time and arrangement in each area are also important factors in creating an attractive landscape for the festival.

Improving Services for Visitors

Behind the carefully arranged floral displays is the ongoing work of staff who tend the plants and monitor each growing cycle.

Do Quang Huy, a member of the Flower and Ornamental Plant Production Team at Da Lat Urban Services Joint Stock Company, said the team is focusing on caring for flowers according to schedule, paying particular attention to plant quality and flowering times to ensure they are ready for festival decorations.

For those directly involved in horticulture, every batch of flowers used for decoration requires meticulous care. Plants must grow well and retain suitable colors and shapes when placed in flower beds and landscaped displays. The work is carried out continuously to ensure the gardens meet the festival’s requirements while remaining attractive for everyday visitors.

Located in Lam Vien - Da Lat Ward, Da Lat Flower Gardens covers nearly 12 hectares and features more than 100 flower species. Each month, the management unit uses approximately 35,000–42,000 bags and pots of flowers for cultivation, replacement and landscape enhancement.

Beyond improving the gardens’ appearance, the management board is also focusing on improving service quality and plans to introduce additional services to better meet visitors’ needs for sightseeing and new experiences.

According to Tran Hoai An, the gardens welcomed approximately 250,000 visitors in 2025. In 2026, the unit expects visitor numbers to continue rising and is working to implement its plans for flower cultivation, decoration and landscape improvements.

Visitors will be able not only to explore the gardens and admire the flowers but also to appreciate artistic displays and learn about bonsai and ornamental plant cultivation.

With preparations being carried out in stages, Da Lat Flower Gardens is gradually completing its landscaping and activities for the 2026 Flower Festival. Alongside the colorful flower beds, exhibitions and competitions are expected to provide additional highlights and enrich the experiences of visitors to Da Lat.
